What is your current role, and what are your main responsibilities?

I’m the Business Development Manager for ProRehire. We supply the award-winning range of Prolectric off-grid, sustainable solar lights and solar hybrid generators exclusively to rental companies for rehire to end users. My role is to raise awareness of our industry-leading products, which help clients to save money on diesel costs and significantly reduce CO2 emissions. I bring together end users with our rehire partners so that they can reap the benefits of Prolectric’s sustainable solar power and battery storage technology.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A great mix of interactions between “end user” clients and rehire partners. I also reach out to new potential partners, sharing information across the wider rental industry and collaborating with all involved. I encourage anyone who uses Tower Lights and Power Generators to try our solar and solar hybrid solutions, so they can see how easy-to-use and cost-effective they are. The technology speaks for itself; Prolectric’s products are a win-win. They help to save the planet and will help you save on fuel and labour costs too!

What are some of the most exciting projects you have worked on recently?

One project which stands out required a ProPower Solar Hybrid Generator to power site accommodation and ProLight Lighting Towers to ensure the compound remained well-lit and secure. It was exciting because I was pivotal in bringing together the contractor, who had no solar hybrid power knowledge but was keen to learn, our rehire partner, who generally rehired traditional diesel generators and the end user, a charitable trust, who are custodians of the National Cycle Network – with over 12,000 miles of paths and routes for walking, wheeling, cycling, and exploring the outdoors. Choosing the ProPower and ProLights, was a great fit – as they helped to reduce harmful emissions and noise, as well as helping to save fuel use and costs. It was great because the overall health & well-being aspects of the project aligned, and it felt like our collective efforts in choosing Solar Hybrid Technology benefited all involved and the wider environment.

What common misconceptions about your industry would you like to dispel?

Solar Tower Lights don’t work year-round… they do, and we can provide supporting data to show that Prolectric’s products can be relied upon to work and have done so for five years plus.

Many people believe the UK doesn’t have enough sun to provide the power for lights to work throughout the night, so a backup generator is needed. Again, this isn’t the case; we can back this up with our industry-leading Portal data.
