Role Overview

As a field-based Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving sustainable sales growth and expanding our customer base. As a confident communicator you will build, nurture and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers, turning those relationships into long term value for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and nurture relationships with new and existing customers, proactively targeting strategic accounts to maximise revenue growth and long-term customer value
  • Meet customer acquisition and revenue targets, driving sustained year on year growth
  • Develop and own a sales plan to target and grow your accounts to support the achievement of your annual sales goals aligned to commercial objectives
  • Conduct product demonstrations, client presentations, site surveys and key stakeholder meetings to communicate product value
  • Prepare sales KPI reports and accurate sales forecasts to support commercial planning and financial forecasting and strategic decision making at senior level
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery, exceptional customer experience and commercially aligned solutions tailored to customer needs
  • Maintain up to date customer, account and sales records in the CRM system to provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for expanding market reach
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities and emerging technologies to identify new sales opportunities and inform commercial decisions
  • Provide ongoing training and support to customers to ensure high satisfaction and long term retention across key accounts
  • Attend internal meetings and training sessions at company HQ when required to support continuous improvement an organisational growth

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience of working within Construction &/or Plant Hire market
  • The successful candidate is commercially astute, boasting a successful career of achievement in sales, business development and/or account management roles
  • Evidence of developing new markets is advantageous
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and CRM platforms
  • Self-motivated and results driven, with the ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and changing priorities effectively in a fast-paced business environment with strict deadlines.
  • Strong understanding and experience of the off-grid power and solar lighting market including temporary and permanent lighting is advantageous
  • Passion for sustainability, renewables and innovative technology with the ability to champion the value with customers and stakeholders
  • Full UK Driving licence and willingness to travel to engage customers, conduct site visits and represent the business across the UK.
