Your Opportunity

You have an exciting opportunity to join our team as field service/workshop engineer based in the Midlands UK. The primary role is to maintain, service and repair a range of solar tower lighting and off grid solar power generators both at our premises and customers sites.

A successful candidate should possess a methodical approach to investigating electrical & mechanical faults on a variety of equipment, carry out handovers with customers as required and provide clear instruction on the operating procedure of any piece of equipment.

We are looking for a driven individual with a well-established electrical/mechanical background who is passionate about providing quality service to the customer, has a real attention to detail and works well as an individual or within a wider team of technicians to achieve a common goal.

Key Responsibilities in the Role

  • Service and maintain assets in line with planned service schedules and action repairs at various customer locations.
  • Respond to callouts across the midlands (and the rest of the UK where required) in a timely manner to minimise asset downtime.
  • Prepare rental equipment for subsequent hires from our premises based in Lutterworth, Coventry.
  • Attend sites to complete handovers of equipment and to help set up in line with customers’ requirements.
  • Tow equipment to / from site as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies Required

  • City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 in mechanical/auto electrical engineering qualification.
  • Diesel engine & single-phase generator / inverter experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable with lone working.
  • Ability to prioritise/manage your own workload and think on your feet to resolve a multitude of issues .
  • Must be flexible & be prepared to travel/stay away as the business dictates.
  • Clean current driving license.

Preferred Requirements Include

  • CSCS Card holder
  • The ability to tow (B+E/ C+E)
  • First aid qualification
  • PAT testing

Schedule

  • 8 hour shift (07:30 – 16:00)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Overtime available where necessary/required
  • Monday to Friday

Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field/position
  • Full UK driving license
