Role Overview

As the Stock Controller at Prolectric, you will oversee the successful operation of our stock and component storage facilities across all sites and have full responsibility for related systems and controls. You are a well-established and experienced parts and warehouse manager, passionate and skilled in delivering operational success and maximising process efficiencies within your remit. This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of change in stock control that will ensure Prolectric’s manufacturing output can scale efficiently.

You will lead a team that strives to deliver exceptional service to all stakeholders. Your role will support colleagues and the wider business with all aspects of stock control and provide a friendly, efficient and pragmatic service. You will own and maintain our stock management systems and ensure we operate efficiently, safely and compliantly. You will have exceptional attention to detail, be highly organised and able to communicate and influence positively at all levels of the business.

This is a full-time role with a requirement to be present at our Clevedon site throughout each week. You may be required to travel elsewhere in the UK from time to time. The role is part of our Production team and reports to the Finance Director with a dotted line to the Head of Factory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage goods-in and storage requirements across all of Prolectric’s operations, including factory, field-based and permanent lighting installations.
  • Ensure the optimum level of stock holding across all component groups, and that these are in line with manufacturing and servicing needs and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to ensure required stock purchases are completed and tracked through goods-in to storage to ensure effective parts supply for production on an on-going basis; be responsible for quality management on inbound stock and handle supplier returns efficiently.
  • Work closely with factory build and field service teams to ensure the smooth provision of parts and subassemblies as required, and availability of required parts between all sites ensuring appropriate transactions are booked in the stock management system.
  • Manage the storage of all parts to ensure owned warehouse utilisation is maximised and optimise use of any 3rd party storage locations.
  • Own the Prolectric stock management system and be the business Super User. Identify processing gaps, perform root cause and provide training to users to prevent future recurrence. Ensure all transactions are made in the system on a timely basis to ensure accuracy of records.
  • Ensure our stock storage areas and stock is appropriately managed, including obsolete stock, quarantined stock and customer held stock; implement storage locations to improve accuracy of our stock record.
  • Maintain Prolectric’s stock management system to action purchases and receipt/dispatch goods as required. Ensure that the most cost-effective and efficient systems are adopted and coach and educate the organisation on best practice for stock storage and management. Leverage the system capabilities to elevate processes and reporting working closely with the finance team.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating a cyclical stock count schedule, carry out stock audits and ensure overall stock system accuracy. Provide reporting and commentary on accuracy of all stock records and inventory for all locations.
  • Lead warehouse operatives as necessary.
  • Any other tasks as required.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Experienced in parts purchasing and warehouse management within a mechanical or electrical environment.
  • Excellent IT skills and confident in the management of cloud-based stock systems. Experience of Unleashed desirable.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process orientated with the ability to embed continuous improvement across the parts/warehouse remit.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time-management and prioritisation skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
