Challenge
SPL Powerlines UK share Network Rail’s commitment through route electrification works to reduce emissions even further and deliver net-zero carbon. Our drive to achieve Carbon Net Zero by 2050 meets UN’s Strategic Development Goals to support the production and use of more sustainable energy. We continue to work with Network Rail to deliver a “Low Emission Railway” and provide a safe, reliable, and efficient service – its a key requisite to encouraging use of public transport. Using standard generators on our site compounds is one of our biggest fuel spends and carbon producers.
The Solution

SPL Powerlines UK has a small fleet of their own welfare cabins and rehires from others as needed. Having their own fleet of solar hybrid generators allows them to tow to site and set up their compounds quickly, as well as save significantly on fuel use and carbon emissions. Not to mention having complete remote access to managing their generator fleet through our Smart Remote Autonomous software.
