Prolectric Services Ltd, the off-grid renewable power and lighting specialist, has restructured its management board to form a powerhouse of talent with new roles and responsibilities as part of the company’s next wave of strategic growth.
With immediate effect, the company welcomes new Managing Director, John Foster. Previously in the position of interim-Managing Director, John has accepted the new permanent role, after entering the business in 2024 from Prolectric’s parent company Hill & Smith. With a clear focus on operational excellence, customer success and sustainable growth, John is a qualified accountant with an MBA. He has over two decades of experience in commercial and finance roles, with previous senior roles as Commercial Director and Managing Director within the Hill & Smith Group.
Rachel Preen now returns to the business, following maternity leave, in the role of Commercial Director, whilst Kathryn Adams takes up the new position of Director of Product. Marcus Quarterman continues in the role of Finance Director.
Rachel Preen, Commercial Director, Prolectric comments: “We have created a great leadership team at Prolectric where everyone plays to their individual strengths. This has enabled us as individuals the opportunity to choose our own paths. I’m therefore delighted to return from a period of maternity leave, to drive the commercial elements of the business forward, with John assuming the role of Managing Director. I’m delighted to work for an organisation that supports a people-first ethos which allows a healthy, balanced approach to professional ambition and personal life. I look forward to working closely with John and the leadership team in this exciting growth phase for Prolectric.”
John Foster, Managing Director, Prolectric, comments: “I’m happy to take on the permanent role of Managing Director to further build on Prolectric’s reputation for innovation, sustainability and industry leadership. Prolectric is a fantastic business with a thriving and talented team. The opportunity to stay with the business beyond my interim period is very much welcome – and along with first-class board members, Rachel, Kathryn and Marcus, to take the business forward together is an exciting prospect for us all.”
Kathryn Adams, Director of Product, Prolectric, comments: “I’m excited to increase my focus on R&D and in the new leadership team – together we are a force for good. I’m passionate about R&D and sustainability – both of which provide the beating heart of Prolectric. In my new role there is a huge opportunity to support the ongoing strategic development of viable solutions to help customers move away from fossil fuels, reduce their carbon emissions, achieve their net zero goals – and save on costs.”
Serving a wide range of industries from construction, housebuilding, MOD and rail to major infrastructure, as a solar-first business, Prolectric is focussed on setting new engineering standards in solar lighting, power technology and advanced automation software. Since launching the company’s first solar lighting tower, Prolectric has saved its customers over 36 million kg of CO2 and reduced diesel usage by more than 10 million litres, which represents a customer saving of more than £15 million.
