Prolectric are delighted to have recently supported an important local community project, as featured on BBC One’s DIY SOS.
A run down adventure play area in Southmead, Bristol, was given a total makeover by Nick Knowles, the DIY SOS team and an army of volunteers.
The popular Ranch play area was originally built by the community and was much loved by many generations. However, in recent years it was hit by a number of arson attacks, leaving it unusable, before the team totally transformed it – bringing the presenter to tears at the result.
Prolectric answered a last minute call from the BBC to provide a silent, night-time lighting solution. We provided a number of ProLight solar tower lights that allowed the teams to work throughout the night, without disturbing the local community by using noisy generator powered lighting.
A resident-led charity, the Southmead Development Trust, runs the playground. The charity works to improve health, wellbeing and employment opportunities for the local community.
Prolectric are proud to be amongst the group of companies, skilled tradespeople and volunteers who came together to regenerate this great play area for the enjoyment of future generations.
