The Role

You have an exciting opportunity to join our growing team under the newly created Quality, Health & Safety Manager role to ensure companywide operations are being conducted in line with best practice and according to relevant legislation.

We are looking for somebody with a well-established health and safety background who is passionate about embedding the correct health and safety culture within the workplace, establishing appropriate policies and procedures in line with current operations and managing all training & compliance needs across our locations.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate working practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to current legislation across all sites
  • Ensure enforcement of appropriate policies throughout our operation in order to further develop a safe working culture
  • Manage and address actions identified from all internal and external health & safety audit findings
  • Investigate all accidents, incidents and/or near misses to identify root causes and mitigate against repeat occurrences
  • Drive the creation and management of health, safety and compliance monitoring systems throughout the workplace
  • Maintain all company accreditations such as ISO and Constructionline
  • Own and maintain the online health, safety and compliance database in line with operational needs
  • Report on all health & safety metrics as well as the progression of key deliverables on a monthly basis

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager role within a comparable industry
  • Extensive knowledge of health & safety legislation, guidelines and risk assessments
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address issues in a time efficient manner
  • Current holder of relevant certification in and health & safety management
  • Excellent communication and workload management skills with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and to strict deadlines
  • Strong IT skills with a proficiency in MS Office

Required Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related field/position
  • Hold a NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experienced in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Member of IOSH (preferred)
  • Experienced in ISO 14001 (preferred)
  • Full UK driving license
