Torrent Trackside and Prolectric announce long-term agreement to deliver industry leading solar and battery powered lighting to the rail sector
An agreement between Torrent Trackside and Prolectric announced today sees Torrent Trackside become Prolectric’s exclusive rail rental partner taking on Prolectric’s entire rail fleet of products including Prolectric’s ProTrack link lighting and ProRXM solar tower lights.
The exclusive agreement allows Torrent Trackside to capitalise and expand further the roll out of the industry’s leading provider of battery and solar powered lighting. It further allows Prolectric to concentrate on the assembly of additional plant as the market opportunity continues to grow while supporting Torrent Trackside in its roll out of the product range across its national depot network.
The Perfect Partnership
In a deal that offers a perfect fit of two leading providers in their respective spaces – Prolectric offers market leading, disruptive and zero carbon technology with Torrent Trackside offering the markets largest range of rail specific plant and equipment. Since the launch of the UKs first winter ready solar lighting tower in 2017, Prolectric’s products have saved more than 15,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions, greater than 5.2 million litres of diesel and saved over £4 million in costs through reduced diesel and manpower servicing costs.
Torrent Trackside Managing Director Jonathan May commented, “we have worked closely with Prolectric for some time and know their products and their team well. There is no doubt that this technology will become increasingly necessary for our customers as we work with them and the wider industry to achieve significant improvements in the environmental sustainability of our industry’s activities. Our commitment to Prolectric and its products will see Torrent Trackside become the market leader in the provision of battery and solar lighting with the largest fleet in the UK rail rental market.”
Prolectric’s Managing Director, Chris Williams commented, “The relationship developed with Torrent Trackside over recent months and the position they hold in the market made the decision to work in partnership with them an easy one. It allows the technology roll out to happen at a faster pace than we could have done so ourselves but also with a company that understands the rails sector and has existing relationships that have been cultivated over many years. It further allows Prolectric to concentrate on continued product development and equipment manufacture.”
