Prolectric Services Ltd, the off-grid renewable power and lighting specialist, has announced the appointment of Kathryn Adams as the company’s new Commercial Director.
Kathryn joined Prolectric in 2022 as Head of Insights and then Head of Marketing to help refocus and strengthen the company’s strategic direction, following a 4-year post with energy company Ecotricity. Her new role as Commercial Director will be instrumental in shaping the next phase of company growth at Prolectric, with responsibility for strategic development and business innovation.
Kathryn Adams comments:
I’m delighted to take up the position of Commercial Director, building on my previous role. I’m passionate about enabling businesses to deliver on their sustainability commitments by moving away from fossil fuels. I always enjoy supporting new and existing customers to understand the full benefits of switching to solar, and to understand that it’s not just the best outcome for the environment, but it makes commercial sense too.
Rachel Preen, Managing Director, Prolectric, comments: “I have worked with Kathryn for many years, at previous company posts and Kathryn’s strategic skill set makes her perfectly positioned for this critically important role. I am truly delighted for Kathryn and her team. As we enter our next planned phase of company growth, our team is expertly placed and committed to providing practical and commercially viable solutions to help customers move away from fossil fuels, reduce their carbon emissions, achieve net zero goals – and save on costs.”
Serving a wide range of industries from construction, housebuilding, MOD and rail to major infrastructure, as a solar-first business, Prolectric is focussed on setting new engineering standards in solar lighting, power technology and advanced automation software.
Since launching the company’s first solar lighting tower, Prolectric has saved its customers over 28 million kg of CO2 and reduced diesel usage by more than 10 million litres, which represents a customer saving of more than £10 million.
Kathryn joins the Prolectric board alongside Marcus Quarterman, Financial Director and Rachel Preen, Managing Director, who in January 2023, took over from former CEO, Chris Williams. In 2021, Prolectric Services Ltd was acquired by Hill & Smith Holdings PLC, a FTSE 250 £1Bn international group providing sustainable infrastructure and safe transport solutions.
